Alexander Cande Obituary

Alexander Cande (a.k.a. Donald Mandeville) Born December 7th,1950 and died March 18th, 2023.

The family of Alex (Donald) Cande are sad to announce his passing in the early hours on March 18, 2023. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, without pain and resting comfortably. Alex was born in Connaught, Ontario and has been a lifelong resident of Timmins and surrounding communities. Alex was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was someone different to many of us - a stuntman, a magician, an illusionist, a clown, a charmer, a small business entrepreneur, a passionate spokesperson for many causes and a dreamer for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. He was the crazy one, the haywire one, the daredevil and the risk-taker. Regardless of what he was to any of us - we could always count on his help - no matter what it was. Alex never turned away from anyone in need. Alex was a “love-hate” kind of guy … you’d love to hate him and hate to love him at any given time. Good or bad - there is not a person around that does not have a story about Alex. The one thing Alex always said he wanted everyone to know is that he "tried his best". Alex is predeceased by his parents Antoinette (1995) & Roger Mandeville (1987), his twin sisters Pierrette (2008) and Paulette (2018), sisters Marie-Jeanne (1952), Carole (1959), Gaetanne (1968), Lissa (2023) as well as his triplet brothers Pierre, Jean and Paul, brothers Roger “Herman” (2013) & Marcel (2022). Left to mourn Alex are his daughter Loriane Brisebois (Ed), 3 granddaughters: Jessica (Frank). Kassandra (Tom) and Natasha (Spencer), 6 great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Zachary, Paige, Elliot, Emmett & Maxwell; and his Godson Patrique Richard (Nathalie). Also left to mourn Alex are his 9 surviving siblings: Patricia, Maurice, Robert, Gaston - Guy, Laurette, Michel, Lisette, Rachelle & Brenda; and his many nieces and nephews. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Cremation will take place, followed by a small intimate Celebration of Life Service on Thursday March 23, from 6pm to 8pm at Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, ON, P0N 1H0 (705)235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net  A graveside memorial will be scheduled at a later date this summer.
