Claudette Cashabec

Claudette passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Golden Manor on June 12th 2022 at the age of 85.  Beloved wife of Michael Cashabec (Feb 2020). Loving mother of Mark Cashabec (Donna) and Chantel (Roger McManus).  She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Sarah Cashabec (great grandchildren: Amber and Axel) Jason and Chloe (Steven Laurin).  She was also a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Survived by her brother Leo Duciaume (Estelle), sister-in-law Emilie, sister-in-law Florence Ritcher, sister in law Marilyn Cashabeck, and brother-in-law Leo Lauzon.

Predeceased by her parents Laura and Aurel Duciaume, brother Larry Duciaume, nephew Andre, sister Hattie Lauzon and neice Nicole Duciaume.

She was a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League (C.W.L.), Loyal Order of the Moose Timmins and for many years also part of the St. Joachims Church Choir.  Claudette’s enjoyment was crafting, you name it and she could do it.  She also loved spending her days with her dog Brandy by her side and also loved to garden, cook and bake. Especially baking homemade buns for her grandchildren to greet them as they came off the school bus.  Taking care of her grandchildren after school were her pride and joy.

For the past 10 years Claudette has come to know the Golden Manor as her home.  A special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Golden Manor for the care and compassion they have shown her.

Remembrance Donations in Claudette’s memory may be made to the Timmins and District Humane Society.

A Funeral Service for Claudette and a Memorial Service for her loving husband Michael Cashabec will be held on Wednesday June 15th, 2022 at Stinson Funeral Home at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at the Airport Hotel, 151 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine.
