Coott, Donna Catherine (née Sather)

The family announces with profound sorrow Donna's peaceful passing at Timmins and District Hospital, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis, on Wednesday April 1, with her loving husband Steven holding her hand.

Donna was predeceased by her mother Janette Sather (nee Laporte), her father Harold Sather, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Left to mourn are her husband Steven, sisters Christine Laffin and Diana Rafuse, as well as several nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Donna will also be sadly missed by Steven's extended family.

Donna had no children of her own, but she was a proud and cherished aunt who loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, hosting sleepovers when they were young and becoming a dear friend in their adult lives. Donna was a talented artist and avid crafter. She loved to spend time at Diana and Ben's cottage at Butler Lake, and at the farm in Barbers Bay, where she enjoyed having a cold one with friends around the campfire. Donna worked as a dietary aide at Extendicare for thirty years. She loved the residents and was a respected colleague. Donna had a huge, caring heart and had empathy for everyone. She loved dogs, and will be missed by her cocker spaniel Theo. Donna's smile and generosity will be remembered by all who are lucky enough to have known her.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care and comfort that Donna received throughout her illness and during her final days at TDH. Special thanks to Dr. Barboza and her respirologist Dr. Casey, as well as the other physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists who cared for Donna. You are all amazing and inspiring.

Remembrance donations to the Timmins Humane Society, Timmins and District Hospital Foundation, or Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
