Elane Mousseau Obituary

MOUSSEAU, ELANE AGATHA

1932-2024

The journey is now over and what a journey it was! It is with heavy hearts that we have come to the end of the long good-bye.

Our dearest mom, Elane, passed away on Friday March 1, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on January26, 1932, she was the daughter of Joseph Russell Cooper and Susan Ida Howard. Predeceased by her husband Denzil (2017), infant daughter Patricia (1953), brother Doyle Cooper (Suzanne), Barry Cooper (surviving Laura) and sister Patricia Godfrey (Henry).

She was loved beyond measure by her three daughters, who were on this journey every step of the way, Susan McCord (Ray), Sandie Lloyd (Chuck), Carolyn Roy (Don) as well as one son Jim Mousseau. Loving Nan to ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with another baby girl on the way.

Mom treasured all of her family and always saw the good in everyone. She was the kindest soul with the biggest heart and even in her last days she managed to get a smile out or raise an eyebrow just to let us know, that she knew, we were there.

Thank you to the staff on East 1, East 2 and Special Care at the Golden Manor for the care and compassion shown to our mom over the last eight years. Thank you for dancing with her and giving her hugs and kisses when we couldn't.

A heartfelt thank you to the three paramedics who made a special effort, after hours, to transport our frail mom back to the Manor where she could remain in her familiar setting after a recent Emergency Room visit. The compassion and dignity shown surely touched our hearts.

As per mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest at the Whitney Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Golden Manor or The Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

TO CARE FOR THOSE WHO ONCE CARED FOR US IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST HONORS IN LIFE
