In Loving Memory of Bertrand, Evelyn (née Lauzon)
1943-2023
The family announces with profound sorrow and heavy hearts the passing of Evelyn on July 8th, 2023, in her 80th year. Survived by her soulmate of 59 years, Pete Bertrand. Loving mother of Nancy (née Bertrand), and son-in-law Brian Watson. Cherished grandmother of Kevin and Michael Watson along with their wives, Danielle Boileau and Samantha Richards and great-grandmother of Olivia. Will be sadly missed by her close friend of many years Kelly Desjardins. She also leaves behind her sister Suzanne (Harold)Martin, her brother John (Rita) Lauzon, her brother-in-law Gerry (Cathy) Bertrand of Sudbury, ON, and sister-in-law Gisele (Brian) Donovan of Russell, ON, and many nieces and nephews in which she held dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents Maria & Edmond Lauzon, by her brothers Norman and Conrad, by her sister Muriel Russell and by her nephew Laurent Lauzon. The door was always open to everyone, and Evelyn always insisted giving you something when you left from a visit; food, slippers, a blanket. Neighbours, friends, family it did not matter. She gave what she could unconditionally. A heartfelt thank you to the paramedics in the Cochrane District, the nursing staff and doctors of the ICU, Hospice care at Timmins and District Hospital and at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Matheson for your kindness and compassionate care. Respecting her wishes cremation has taken place and a private gathering was held. In respect for her love of Mocha, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Timmins Humane Society.
