Italo "Jiggs" passed away peacefully at Extendicare on February 8th, 2023. Beloved husband of Georgina for 72 years. Loving father of Bonnie and Barry Basso. Cherished grandfather of Adam and Aaron (Kelly). He will be sadly missed by his sister Rigoletta Garito, his sister-in-law Helina, his brother-in-law Wayne (Colleen) Cowan, and by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Angelo & Maria Basso, his brother Dino Basso and by his brother-in-law John Garito.
Italo "Jiggs" was past president for 19 years of the Timmins Musicians. Played music with Henry Kelneck, Fred DelGuidice bands and his own orchestra. He loved the cottage life, as well as swimming, skating, playing the accordion and spending time with his dogs.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 20th, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Stinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the Memorial Service at Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, ON, P0N 1H0 (705)235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net
 The family will be hosting a luncheon at the South Porcupine Legion Branch 287 upstairs after the Memorial Service at Stinson Funeral Home.
