ETHIER, Jeanine

The family announces with profound sorrow Jeanine Ethier’s peaceful passing at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 77 on June 5, 2020. Heaven now has another angel.

Jeanine was predeceased by her mother Marie Jeanne Joly (nee Major), her father Ernest Joly, her sisters Jackie (Aime) Champagne, and Linda (Raymond) Lavallee and her foster brother Wayne (Mary) Bertrand.

Beloved wife of 53 years to Robert Ethier. Loving mother of children, Sylvie (Brian) Clarke, Dan (Nicole) Ethier and Claude Ethier. Treasured grandmother of Ryan, Kiera, and Sean. She also had a special place in her heart for Tiffany Clarke and Liam Goff. Still left to mourn are her sisters Helen (the late John) D’Amours and Claudette (the late Guy) Boulanger and several extended family members and friends. 

Jeanine worked as a Registered Nurse Assistant on the Maternity Floor at St. Mary’s Hospital for several years. She left her career to raise her family and was a babysitter to other families.

Jeanine’s life was rooted in her faith. She had a huge, caring heart and her calm and loving manner will be remembered by everyone who knew her.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care and comfort that she received throughout her illness and during her final days at the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Karen Armstrong, the Hospice nurses as well as the staff at Care Partners.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Timmins and District Hospital/Hospice or the Timmins Food Bank would be appreciated.
