The family announces with sorrow Joanne’s passing on February 6th, 2024, at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 70. Joanne was proud that she shared the same birthday, September 9th, with her father and his twin brother. She was the loving mother of Dereck Marcel Joseph (Enza) Dallaire, Raymond Timothy Andrew James (Marcie) Curnew . Cherished grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren, Kailey Dallaire, Dylan Dallaire, Myles Curnew, and Millie Curnew.
Joanne is survived by her brother Joey (Louise), her three sisters Darlene (Darrell) Head, Ruby (Lou) Bougie, Karren (James) Wright and by her mother-in-law Audrey Curnew. She will be missed by her true friends who loved her the way she was.
She was predeceased by her parents Joe & Lorna Montague, her sisters Brenda Richardson and Barbara Mallard.
Joanne worked for the OPP before joining the Canadian Armed Forces on February 21st, 1991, where she served until September 11th, 2007, as a finance clerk. She served in Haiti, MacDill Airforce Base where her secondary duty was Base Defence. Her final Tour of Duty was in CFB Alert, Nunavut for six months.
She loved life and people, but her greatest joy was in making others smile. Joanne will be sadly missed by all..................
In lieu of flowers donations made to the Bible Fellowship Assembly or Canadian Mental Health Association will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bible Fellowship Assembly, 207 Lawrence Street, Porcupine, ON, P0N 1C0 (705)235-3532 at 10:00a.m on February 10th, 2024.
