It’s with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of their loving father Joseph Louis Cormier on November 26th, 2023. Joseph was born August 31st, 1936, in Petit Rocher, New Brunswick. Louis was the eldest son of Sylvio & Odina Cormier. Louis was pre-deceased by his loving wife Doris of 58 years, whom we are certain was waiting for his arrival in heaven to continue their love story, along with their beloved dog Lacey. Louis is the loving father of Daniel (Joy), Michelle (Steven), Louis, Dale, Paul (Courtney), Neil (Shelley), and Craig (Bridget).
Louis leaves behind 14 grandchildren, April, Ann, Mike, Paul, Richard, Claude, Jessie, Lori, Jerrica, Chase, Dale Jr, Nicole, Christian, and Josh. Louis was also blessed with 20 great-grandchildren whom he loved and adored. Louis was well known for his passion of music playing guitar and singing in his band "Lou Cormier and the Acadians". He passed his love of music to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved playing guitar and singing for him. Louis also had a passion for the sport of golf wearing his infamous red golf shirt. Playing for many years post-retirement after a lengthy career as a licensed electrician.
Dad loved playing golf especially in yearly Mattawa tournaments along with family and friends, creating many memories on the greens. Our wish is dad gets to play golf daily on the most amazing courses in heaven. Till we meet again Dad, grandpa, great-grandpa we love you. You will live on in us.
The family would like to thank all the Nurses, Doctors & PSW's who took such great care of dad over these last few years at TDH, St Mary's, and Extendicare Timmins (Gillies Lake Wing)
