It is with great sorrow that the family announces the unexpected passing of Lucy Dragica Toner (nee Dasovich) at Timmins and District Hospital on Monday May 9, 2022. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was life-long resident of South Porcupine, and has been an active member of St. Joachim’s Parish her entire life. She lived an extraordinary life, according to her deep faith, always putting the needs of others before herself, and looking for ways to lend a hand to help and serve those around her. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished every moment cooking, baking and taking care of them. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Lucy can attest to her deep kindness, compassion and generosity as well as her talents in the kitchen which she gladly shared working in the kitchen at Extendicare in Schumacher for 15 years. Lucy was fortunate to live independently in her home until just before her passing, the family is extremely blessed by the support provided by close friends and neighbours to our dear mother after the passing of our father. A funeral mass will be at St. Joachim’s Parish Saturday May 14 at 1pm followed by a celebration of life on the patio at the Airport Hotel in South Porcupine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Porcupine Food Bank, St Joachim‘s Parish or the Croatian Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, ON P0N1H0 (705)235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net
