In Loving Memory of
MAJALAHTI, Mabel Elizabeth (Betty) nee Carter, 84 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 29, 2022 at Extendicare, Timmins.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Reino Majalahti, her brother Joe (Monique) Jennings, her sister Donna (and Barry) Weiss, her sister Nancy Hohnsbehn, her daughter-in-law Joe-Anne Salo, and grandsons Tyler and Austin. Betty was a dear mother to Ron, Larry, Arlene, Sherry (Rolly) Goudreau, Randy (Shelly) and Dawn (Michael) Clark. She was a dear sister to Lewis (Donna) Bergenham, Peggy (J.P.) Martin, and Barry (Jackie) Jennings. Loving grandmother of Ashley and Lisa; Jenny, Melinda, Kim, Amanda and Stephanie; Shay, Heather, Tiira and Laina; Adam, Rory and Kyle; Ashley; and Kyera. Beloved great-grandmother of nineteen children.
Betty is fondly remembered for her years hosting at the McIntosh Tavern with her husband Reino. Later Betty achieved a diploma in social work, and worked many years with CNIB, serving the visually impaired of Timmins.
She is well known for her famous pulla and Finnish pancakes. She is also known for her painted glassware, her paintings and the beautiful handmade cards that she shared with her family and friends. Betty also loved and missed her Pomeranians and Yorkies.
Betty was a beautiful lady, who enjoyed entertaining, dancing, the outdoors, and always made everyone feel welcome and loved. She will be sadly missed. A celebration of life for Betty will be announced at a later date.
