In Loving Memory of Marie Rintamaki-Veikkola
1957-2023
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the peaceful passing of Marie Rintamaki-Veikkola on April 10th at the age of 66 at the Timmins & District Hospital.
Marie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Vesa Veikkola, her children Lindsay Paradis and Nicholas Skrtic (Samantha), her beloved grandchildren Sydney, and Jake Skrtic, as well as Vesa's daughter Shelby and grandchildren Hailey & Blake who she loved as her own.
Marie was predeceased by her parents Ina and Vilho Rintamaki. Left to mourn are sisters Susan Gagain (late Gary), Deborah Dagenais (Mike), Tracey Rintamaki (Andrew) and brothers, Mike Rintamaki (Carol) and Jeff Rintamaki (Maureen). Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces & nephews and extended family.
Marie was an incredibly proud person. She was extremely proud of her Finnish heritage and spent a great deal of her youth at her Mummu's farm helping out with all of the chores and it was here that she developed her love of fishing, hunting and being in the bush.
Marie had a passion for life and her love for her family, friends and animals were unconditional. She would do anything for anyone at any time. Nothing was ever too much. She had a huge heart. She had a great sense of humour and loved socializing with friends and sharing laughs.
There are special people in our lives who never leave us after they are gone. Marie will always be one of those very special people to us.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marnie Chisholm and Nicholas Klimo at Bayshore Home Health and Dr. Julie Samson at Timmins and District Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Timmins Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday April 21st, 2023, upstairs at the Airport Hotel, 151 Bruce Street, South Porcupine, at 2:00 pm. The Finnish Water Blessing will be held at 2:40pm and the family will be continuing Marie's Celebration of Life downstairs at the Airport Hotel. Arrangements entrusted to Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, ON, P0N 1H0 (705)235-2900 wwwstinsonfuneralhome.net
