In Loving Memory

DONALDSON, Marion de Jersey (Nee Perrott)

November 21, 1926 – April 22, 2022

Marion believed that accounts must balance, puzzles needed to be solved, pianos were to be played, poetry was meant to rhyme and people were to be loved. With loving memory of a life dedicated to the service of God, Marion’s (Mrs. D to many) family announces her passing on April 22, 2022. She was predeceased by Chester (Mr. D) in 2016, and all her siblings: Doris, Herbert, Lawrence, Roy and Joanie. She will be fondly missed by her seven children: Terry (Lois) of Dorchester, Philip (Peggy) of Porcupine, Andrew (Wendy) of Toronto, Janice (Eddy) Hannan of Saint-Isidore-de-Laprairie, Stephen (Janet) of Peterborough, Virginia (David) Lovering of Toronto, and David (Diane) of St. Catharines. She was loving grandmother to Meredith, Graeme, Jennifer, Mark, Andrea, Hilary, Patricia, Meghan, Andrew, Carolyn, Michelle, Christopher, Liisa, Stephanie, Matthew and Laurel, and 30 great grandchildren. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews in southern Ontario and in the West. "Mrs. D" was born in Toronto, and, when the depression forced her father out of work, her family moved to a farm near Gunter, Ontario. Upon her return to Toronto in the 1940s, she worked as a book-keeper, and it was in Toronto that she met Chester. They married in 1947, then moved from Toronto to be “missionaries to the north." She was Chester’s partner in church work, in Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Timmins and Bible Fellowship Assembly in South Porcupine. Together, with the help of others, they founded a summer camp for kids, Northland Bible Camp in 1957 that is still in operation. In 1984 they established Harmony House, a Christian Bookstore in South Porcupine. Thousands of people from all over Ontario remember "Mrs. D" because of her cheerful attitude, her sense of humour and tireless service.

Funeral arrangements: Visitation on Monday, April 25, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and the funeral Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 am, both at Bible Fellowship Assembly, Porcupine Ontario.
