Maureen Duffy
May 18th, 1937 to July 15th, 2021
It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Maureen on July 15 2021 at the age of 84. She passed peacefully at Timmins District Hospital Hospice unit
Maureen, is survived by her son Brian (wife Hélène), her brother William (Nick) Miller (wife Nola) and by her sister in law Helen Miller.
Predeceased by her husband Cecil Duffy (1989), brothers Robert (Duke) Miller, Terry Miller and her parents Margaret and Hilton Miller.
Maureen leaves behind many nieces and nephews and relatives from the Miller family also on the Duffy side in Ireland. She will be sadly missed by her Walford friends and staff.
Maureen was a compassionate loving woman. She loved unconditionally. Her favorite hobbies were knitting, reading, bingo, crossword puzzles, dancing, watching golf and being at the Hollinger Golf course with her husband Cecil. Her favorite TV shows were Jeopardy, Y&R, Golf and Figure Skating.
She was an avid figure skater in her younger years at the South Porcupine Arena (the barn).
She followed in her mother's footstep in nursing career for 20 yrs. Received her certification as an R.N.A. She pursued her nursing career at Sarnia General Hospital and completed her career at Porcupine General Hospital. Met her husband Cecil in Port Huron. They spent a wonderful life together in Sarnia then moved to South Porcupine in 1973.
We would like to thank the Walford Retirement Home and CCAC for their continuing dedication and compassionate care they offered over the years. To the Timmins District Hospital Hospice Care Unit and Surgical Unit for their continuing care and compassion during the past few weeks.
Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering by graveside will take place at a later date.
