The family announces with sorrow the passing of Murray on Friday December 3rd, 2021, at the Bingham Memorial Hospital. Beloved Husband of Georgina (née Watson) Ransbury

Loving father of Terry (Lance) Roberts, Darlene (late Vil) Ciemitis, Wanda (Chris) Gennings, Brian (Nancy) Watson, Kim (James) DeGraaf, Murray Jr. (Helen) Ransbury, Deborah (Mike) Perron, Fredrick (Marion) Ransbury.

Cherished grandfather of Shannon (Ryan), Lance Jr., Tamara (Wesley), Tiffinnea, Amanda (Patrick), Vanessa, Shania (Brandon), Johnathan, Joshua, Kim (Sean), Kevin (Danielle), Michael (Samantha), Traci (Scott), Ashley (Gavin), Tayler (Jay), Tiffany, Katie-Lynn (Wayne), Lauren, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Alexander, Victoria. Treasured great-grandfather of 24.

Predeceased by his mother Violet, stepfather Clinton, his father Charles Ransbury and stepmother Ethel and by his sister Mary Ransbury.

Murray moved to Connaught in 1966, where he started logging and then retired his employment at Kidd Creek Met Site. With a move from Connaught to Val Gagne from 1977 to then moving back to the town he loved, to build mom’s house. Murray was the 1st Connaught Volunteer Fire Chief. Murray along with Betty Roberts & others rallied the city to have the 1st Connaught Community Center be built for the community.

 

Murray in his spare time enjoyed woodworking, ski-dooing, camping, fishing, and farming, but mostly loved spending time with his family.

Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Bingham Memorial Hospital for all the great care during his stay and making his final days comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 6th, 2021, from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm.  at Stinson Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 7th, 2021, at 11:00 am at Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, ON, P0N 1H0 (705) 235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net. Covid-19 measures will be in place.
