Obituary
In Loving Memory of Patricia Strachan.
The family announces with sorrow the passing of their beloved mother Patricia Strachan (Forster) on June 5th, 2023.
Pat was the beloved wife of the late John Strachan (August 11, 2014) and mother to daughters Lesley Strachan Montrose (Reg Montrose) and Jill Mahoney (Roddy Mahoney) and her departed son Dale Strachan (Caroline Johnson). She was also the proud grandmother of Justin Strachan (Lindsay Jean Aird) and Mackenzie Mahoney (Mykela Wittig) and great grandmother to Scarlett Strachan.
Patricia came to Canada in the early sixties and held jobs as store clerk in South Porcupine (MacDonalds Pharmacy) and Timmins Stationary. Pat and John loved to dance and were members of the St Andrews Society as well as other organizations. Pat also loved life at their camp at Halfmoon Lake where they operated a small campground for over 20 years.
Patricia was fortunate to experience opportunities to return to England to visit with her two sisters and many relatives on both sides of the family.
Patricia will be dearly missed but was well taken care of by the staff in Mattagami River wing at Extendicare in her final years. Heartfelt thanks go to the caring staff and the assistance of Horizons Palliative Care.
The family will be holding a private celebration of her life and inurnment will be at the Tisdale Cemetery. Remembrance can be made to Horizons Palliative Care or the Alzheimer’s Society if so chosen.
