1952-2021

Regina passed peacefully at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Matheson, ON surrounded by her daughters Linda and Tracy on April 16, 2021 at the age of 68 years.   She is survived by her daughters Linda Beaudet (Michael) and Tracy Lacroix (Robert Reid).  She also leaves behind her brothers John Vierimaa (Wende) and Carl Vierimaa (Debra) and her sister Satu Bertrand (late Rene).  She is also survived by her grandchildren Mandy Penney (Steven), Austin Beaudet (Beckie Goddard) and her great grandchildren Hayden and Quinn Penney who were her reason to keep fighting every day.  She will also be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her only son, Beau Belanger, her siblings Seppo, Sakari, and Liisa, and her parents Mauno and Maija Vierimaa. 

Regina was a strong hearted and caring woman.  She had always put her family first and cared for others whether she knew you for years or had just met you.  Her kind soul will be missed by many friends, co-workers and family.  She was very proud of her Finnish heritage and liked to say she was made in Finland. She has been an active member of the Finnish society and other groups in Timmins, and numerous groups in Matheson where she has made her home for the last 16 years.  A private gathering will be held when restrictions allow.

The family would like to thank the healthcare providers at Bingham Memorial Hospital for their excellent care as well as Joanne Gibbons for being at Regina’s side through everything.  In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
