It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ron Rheault on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Timmins and District Hospital.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 39 years Billie (née Moore). Cherished brother of Lise, Ghislaine (Jim) Ng, Gilles (Therese), Robert (Sheila), Mariette (Richard Boucher) and Alain (Andree). Dearly loved brother-in-law of Ava (Philip) Tannahill, Ina Patterson, Jim (Linda) Moore, Liz Moore (Jim Gilmore), Dan (Lorna) Moore, Maureen (Wayne) Pihlaja. Ron also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ron has gone to reunite with his parents Ovide and Emilienne Rheault, his brother Serge and his in laws Ken & Hazel Moore along with many loved ones who have gone before him.

Ron was born in Belle Vallee and moved to Timmins to pursue his electrical dream. He was an Industrial Electrician for 32 years spending 27 of them at Kidd Creek Met Site where he retired in 2008.

Ron spent his retirement enjoying the things he and his wife loved to do the most; travelling in Canada, woodworking, antiquing, designing stained glass pieces, gardening and taking care of his lawn which was the envy of the neighbourhood. He was also a long-time member of the Porcupine Horticultural Society where he spent many hours giving back to the community with his woodworking skills.

Many thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s Gardens, the Timmins Fire Department and EMS for going above and beyond in getting Ron the care he required despite the power outage, it was truly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Porcupine Horticultural Society will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
