In Loving Memory of

VLAAD, Tom

On May 25, 2020, Tom took his last breath with his family by his side.    

He will be forever missed by his wife and best friend Lise and his two loving daughters Sofie and Marie. He leaves behind his brother Bill and sister Helen, mother-in-law Karen, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law David and Bev, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind a large group of friends and “bar family”. 

Tom always said his life was a gift and made sure to live each day to the fullest. He approached everything with an open mind, patience, and kindness.  He was the brightest light in our family, leading us down every path, but lately, as we liked to joke, the paths with all the bumps!  He was the most positive and driven person you’d meet although he did admit that he was the most organized procrastinator there was. He loved a good conversation and was a good listener.  His favorite topics were sports, politics, his kids, and many funny stories from his antics from his past.  His job was his passion and he loved sitting at the round table at Jake’s having rye and pepsi with his friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Cano, Dr. Woods, Sharon, Natalie and Michelle in Oncology, and nurses Sandra, Pat, Barb, Courtney, and Megan.

Donations to the Oncology Department at the Timmins and District Hospital or the Daffodil Terrace Lodge in Sudbury will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

We look forward to a celebration of his life once it’s safe to do so.
